EEA Learning Academy

Logo design

Enrich, Excel, Achieve Learning Academy is a charter school in my hometown of Wausau, Wisconsin that provides middle and high school youth an alternative to the traditional educational setting.

In the fall of 2015 they decided to rebrand with a new logo and asked students to submit sketches of potential ideas; I was then tasked with turning the top two students’ rough drafts into finalized digital products from which the school could pick.

This was one of my first forays into graphic design that wasn’t photography or web-based, and I appreciated the challenge of learning vector software.

This mark was inspired by a vision of nurture: the idea that EEA Charter School is “growing the next generation”.

This is the concept that was ultimately chosen to represent the school. After the initial decision was made I did some follow-up work to clean the design, adjusting it to include the school’s colors and have sharper lines.

This particular logo focuses on the idea that EEA helps students draw their own futures; the school-branded pencil crafts an iconic image of a graduation cap.
